We are a Chinese family of four (most of the time, three). We are non-smokers and do not have any pets. We get along well with our tenants, and would hardly interfere with your daily life. We would not prefer visitors to our house.
We live in a corner unit on the 11th floor of a HDB, so your privacy and sleep would never be compromised by the sounds of people walking past the corridors, noises, etc. With this corner unit, the space is definitely bigger than most: you will have your own mini living room (with your own sofa and TV) just outside your bedroom. The kitchen is just beside the bedroom, so everything is within reach. You will also have the option of using the sofa outside the house, probably to unwind with a book (I guess?) or just to enjoy the breeze.
